Getting to Rio

Entry Requirements

All US citizens need a valid passport and visa to enter Brazil

  • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates
  • US citizens must obtain a tourist visa (e-Visa) before traveling to Brazil
  • We recommend applying a few months in advance to avoid any last-minute stress
  • The application process is straightforward, though they are picky with the passport photo - make sure it meets all requirements

Flights to Rio

Most international flights arrive at Galeão (GIG)

Direct Flights to Rio (GIG)

Available from Houston (IAH), Dallas (DFW), Miami (MIA), Atlanta (ATL), and New York (JFK)

Connecting via São Paulo

Flights from São Paulo may arrive at Santos Dumont (SDU) instead of Galeão (GIG)

From Chicago

We recommend connecting through Houston (IAH), Miami (MIA), or São Paulo (GRU) for the easiest connections to Rio

Getting Around Rio

  • Uber is the best way to get to Vila Santa Teresa. Do not plan around parking.
  • If this is your first time in Rio, stay in Leblon or Ipanema. Copacabana also works.
  • Taxis will be available from the event for the ride home.
